Job description

Our client, an independent specialist tour operator, is searching for a new consultant to join their team to sell and put together tailor-made itineraries for UK families. They are looking for an experienced African destination specialist, supporting the Director and team with much of the day to day management and product. It is a small business, so will require someone who is comfortable working in a small office environment as well as working from home every now and then. Main responsibilities will be to build relationships with clients to convert sales, liaise with partners overseas, ensure bookings and quotes are accurate and contribute to e-marketing and newsletter content. As this is a tailor-made specialist, this will require a candidate with excellent attention to detail and high level of customer service.

  • Previous experience in a high-end tailor-made business, working with families on their needs and putting detailed travel itineraries together
  • Sales experience with the South East Asian market.
  • Tour operating experience required, ideally from a high-end specialist business rather than a mainstream product
  • Competent IT user, Microsoft Packages, CRM systems (Axum ideal)
  • Previous destination knowledge ideal, Africa, Asia, Latin America or Central America ideal
  • Understanding of the luxury family travel market ideal
  • Flexible on location, ability to work from home or in the office part time or different hours
  • Passion for travel required
